The first card that springs to mind is Garruk, Primal Hunter. That created 3/3s as a +1 ability. Arguably, this card's mana cost is even harder to meet. That +3/+3 clause in the first ability might not be guaranteed (especially in limited) unless you're going full tribal, which is kind of a cost itself, making this a quite weak of a 'walker at the moment IMO.
Maybe drop that colorless portion (
) from the mana cost?
Also, this card looks like it should be mono-
... Producing 3/3 apes, Giant Growths, Overruns (more like Beastmaster Ascension here, but still)... all
.
changed creature type so it would be pc
Pretty pushed if you ask me. Reminds me of Servant of the Conduit. Looking at the other cards of this set, I feel like this would be the obvious pick at common since you can't really ever go wrong with it. 2/2 bear for 2 and mana ramp + fixing: this card basically has it all. Compare to another card at common at the same cost: Skyracer Beetle. The choice between the two seems obvious. I would consider moving it to uncommon.
Looking at the beetle, it would actually make a lot of sense to let it have one of these mana producing abilities instead. It would basically be a bigger Birds of Paradise.
Ah, I see how that could be taken in a bad way. Thank you for pointing that out, I'll definitely change it.
"Black slave creature tokens"? That's seems pretty raunchy. You could use the already established and less controversial "Serf" type (Sengir Autocrat).
Just draw? I would definitely move that to
cost ala Watchtower Loremaster (Elvish Visionary) - likely even if it were a 0/1.
changed 0/1 to 1/1
Thank you for the input, I was considering to just make it draw a card without discarding, but I thought it might be too good for a junk common.
Later I'm hoping to include some part about blinking permanents, but this is my first set and I'm really just trying to see how it turns out when it's finished. The cycle is slightly reminiscent of all the gain life dual lands such as Swiftwater Cliffs, which you mentioned, but I think they might have some synergy when the set it reaching it's endpoint. If they don't, then I'll most likely delete them. Thank you for your input though!
I thought that the casting cost and multikicker cost might be a suitable cost for uncommon rarity, but I'd love your input on ways it could be changed for the better.
I would make it a 1/1. Some comparison points could be: Salvage Drone, Hapless Researcher, and Vodalian Merchant / Merfolk Traders.
Alternative, popular, and related design could be: Lunar Seer.
What's the purpose of this cycle? I don't see any life gain or even land bounce/fall shenanigans in this set.
Power wise, I find this in the awkward place between Radiant Fountain, Glimmerpost, Seraph Sanctuary, and Swiftwater Cliffs, where 2 life is probably slightly too strong yet 1 is too little. At least it has the basic type so that's something.
Wild Ricochet makes me think that this is quite overcosted.
