The first card that springs to mind is Garruk, Primal Hunter. That created 3/3s as a +1 ability. Arguably, this card's mana cost is even harder to meet. That +3/+3 clause in the first ability might not be guaranteed (especially in limited) unless you're going full tribal, which is kind of a cost itself, making this a quite weak of a 'walker at the moment IMO.
Maybe drop that colorless portion (
) from the mana cost?
Also, this card looks like it should be mono-
... Producing 3/3 apes, Giant Growths, Overruns (more like Beastmaster Ascension here, but still)... all
.
I just changed the -3 to a -1 and i took the cmc down to 4, I'm thinking that he hits the board and if you don't already have an ape, use his -1, next turn, buff the ape for +3/+3, and attack for 6, which by turn 5 at best is a pretty good play. I would have made him mono-
, but I'm attempting to do "leaders" of each shard combo colors, and Grunn, Never Lonely Seemed like a good ruler of a primate filled floating city (yes, my set ideas are crazy).
