Basic observations:

-Like I said in a comment, A+ on the flavor text. I have a very good feel for the world, the various cities, factions within those cities, and storyline because of it. Do you plan to add art for these cards?

-One minor nitpick - I am not a big fan of the mutant names. X Person seems a bit tame and lame for a class of mutants (i.e. Mutants, Metahumans; along with other mutant-like groups like the Inhumans). The typeline already tells me the character concept, so I would like to see something a little more evocative for the names of them.

-A lot of the archetypes seem pretty strongly signalled. On first pass there is a lot of tapping your own dudes for effects, which plays nicely against Daunt. One issue I may see come up is that Daunt creatures may be a little too strong against Defender decks.

Thanks for your comments and critiques Mal.

  • I have always been at odds about art in custom sets. While I'd love to see this world brought to life, the flavor of the plane I've created is hard to represent through random art found online, especially since many characters and places are obvious riffs on existing properties. I never say never, but scouring the net for art that kinda fits my designs is never the most thrilling part for me personally.

  • As you can read in the FAQ, not all names are supposed to be final. I try to paint a good picture with the ones I do name, but others (like all the mutants) are just placeholders. (See also, any flavortext that's just a meme)

  • Daunt was actually brought in specifically to combat defender decks. Not that defenders is an oppressive archetype, but it can cause problems when one section of your set is literally about defending forever. This is especially the case since Green and White don't get to cheat on win conditions like Red (Vent Sentinel) or Blue (Doorkeeper). Daunt is a safety value that lets other decks pressure the defenders deck to do something proactive or die a slow death. Early testing has actually shown that the set might need a bit more daunt, though truth be told all all-commons playtests generate boardstalls.

If your comments are on a small number of specific cards, they may be better added to those cards. This is for comments on the set as a whole.
