Seems like it will conflict a lot with the weapon tokens. I think your non token equipment want to be different.
This seems more uncommon than common. Could be trample but as a 8/7 or 7/8?
This is going to be a very premium common
I think this could be a 1/5 or 1/6 considering Thriving turtle
It's for a subtheme (activated abilities) that admittedly isn't super well supported at the moment. The idea is that it would be useful for both an "abilities" deck and just a regular equipment deck. Definitely on the chopping block though, I'm already trying to fit too much stuff into this set.
Flavor basically. The Afflicted are the counter group on this plane, and a literal Scorpion Demon doesn't really fit this plane.
It also gives me some more leeway to change it if I don't want an exact copy.
That was a playtesting change. This set has so many things that really want to be tapped that this card just became way too much value.
Soulstinger is a good design to reprint, though why the change to orc?
This seems out of place. Whats it supposed to support?
House Arrest Returns! The once each turn clause seems unnecessary.
Minions are totally better. I'll make that swap when I figure out changing the flavor of the (one) other zombie token card too.
Yeah this used to be a flowstone effect but it was making combat too complicated. I could easily see it changing again or just being removed.
"simply" is there to imply that the listener shouldn't worry or think to much about it, while "as well" is there to imply that their "employment" of the griffins has not actually changed their position as a symbol of freedom. I agree it reads weird though.
Flavor text nazi: "Simply" and "as well" seem at odds with each other. Remove one?
Out of all of the Mutant designs, I like this and Bird Person the least. The ability isn't relevant until all of the counters are removed (and will kill the creature if used, rendering Jimmy Newbie sad that his ninja turtle guy died).
Still, I don't find that surprising at all. There are many forces that pressure you to pile more stuff onto your cards. In the cases of those two it seems they were fitting effects to slap their "mechanic of the day" onto given that the effect's complexity quota is so low. Making a common that's a strictly worse of its could-be uncommon equivalent isn't particularly exciting prospect for me either.
At NGA there's a thread with a similar theme that got a surprising amount of "submissions".

EDIT: Btw, zombies aren't exactly the first thing that comes to mind when I think of "Comic book" setting. Curiously (since that would also be similar to my card eve if the type is pretty much retired), Minions might be more fitting though I don't see anything that would care about that particular creature type in the set.
Yeah that's my point, we've gotten numerous

card that make two zombies, but they've always got an extra ability.
Coming in tapped would definitely interfere with their usefulness (given this set really likes to tap creatures), but it's definitely an option should this card need to be nerfed.
Well, I mean both Moan of the Unhallowed and Gisa's Bidding have existed for some time.
I personally went with Out of the Pit so it isn't a strictly worse version of either of those cards - even if it made Zombie tokens. It did lose the

for 2 2/2s thing though, but that's more of a trick than anything.
True. Vanillas are always the hardest for me to design. They usually just hold a spot until they're forced to change size and cost by outside forces.
Aren't this and Goon Squad too similar cost-to-stats wise? It feels weird.
