The World of Comica

Much like a real Magic set, Comica puts a Magic twist on familiar superhero stories. Most of the world's denizens live in one of the three major cities.

Utropolis

This is the cleanest and safest city in the world, at least according to the department of tourism. Utropolis is run by a city council of elected vedalken officials, and has a state-run hero task force known as the Guardians. Recently the Mayor of Utropolis, a vedalken named Orlan, approved the use of mechanical law enforcement constructs known as Watchers to help keep the streets safe. Not everyone took this news well, and groups of protesters led by an infamous resistance leader who calls himself Jaguar, has protested the Watchers with varying degrees of popular support.

Kane City

The streets of Kane City are dark and crime ridden. Gangs, both organized and anarchistic, run amok under the watch of a corrupt police force run by Police Chief and Mob Boss Don Deluca. Villains wage urban warfare for control of the city and civilians are caught in the crossfire. A maniacal flamekin Cackle leads bands of his short-fused comrades on fire raids through the streets, and the slums are run by the Afflicted, who carry a deadly plague that refuses to be cured. But Comica is a world of heroes, and in Kane City that means vigilantes. Each day and each night, brave citizens dawn masked costumes and take to the streets to protect and serve the people who have no where else to turn.

Jukyo

Jukyo is an island city located in the sea of monsters, so called because of the enormous beasts that often emerge from its depths to wreak havoc. Luckily, the citizens of Jukyo are more than up to the job, and after centuries of weekly attacks they have learned how to survive amidst the harshest of conditions. Jukyo is a center of both scientific and natural understanding, seeking to better the world through both biological and mechanical improvement. Part of this manifests in the acceptance of Comica's mutants, who are often scored by mainlanders.

More to come, when I've got the time to write it all out.
