Blue Elemental Blast + Celestial Purge
I started with simplifying Banishing Light, and decided red as the best land destruction colour went here. Raising the cost to four, and giving flash to compensated it came from that.
While far more white than red, being unable to destroy lands is theoretically one of whites weaknesses, which I feel enough to justify as a gold card. It felt more white-red than white-green, so I went with that (not going white-black because that colour combination already has vindicate).
The multicolour comment refers to it punish people for doing what the environment I'm trying to create rewards (play more than 2 colours). It probably won't be used for that, but saving it for a set where it can't cause feel bad moments like that is general plan.
It seems highly unlikely that this would be used for a land so one has to wonder a while as to why is this
. Feels a bit iffy because the
part is of such niche utility so that the card is like 90%
.
Unfortunately can't put this in heavy multicolour set as it punishes multicolour cards.
I'd like to use Walls instead of Defender for flavour reasons. Both versions work under the rules, although yes, modern design philosophy would probably try to make "Defender" matter instead of "Walls".
Changed wording from "Destroy target non-enchantment non-enchanted creature" to "Destroy target nonenchantment creature that isn't enchanted" as per SecretInfiltrator's advice.
