I mean, I guess the one potential operative difference is that Renegade and Dryad both receive a flat buff, whereas this can theoretically keep getting bigger and bigger. I'm not sure how much a danger that is in practice, but we'll soon find out.

No intrinsic rules meaning to the subtype. It's mostly a token subtype, but we're also playing around with a vertical cycle that have "when you sacrifice ~ triggers." It will indeed not do anything until you have a way to sac it.
--CF
Does the "Monument" subtype carry any rules baggage, like Aura? If I'm reading this correctly, it doesn't do anything until you have a sacrifice outlet, right?
Planning on it.
--CF
Yes.

Is there going to be a G one?
Shouldn't this now be "have indestructible?"

There is a pretty serious token subtheme is green to make the numbers work on harmony, but we also have an unusual quantity and quality of actual vanilla cards in the block (or at least, in green and the two adjacent factions).
This certainly lets you dream, but getting a vanilla into play turn two is a real deckbuilding constraint. Based off narnam renegade and gnarlwood dryad I think the numbers should be okay, but we'll see if it gets too big in playtesting.
--CF
Interesting. Rewards you for splashing some vanilla. Uh. Oh I see, actually secretly rewards you for token generation.
Interesting ability.
Not sure whether this is a reasonable place to put it - I guess a small deathtoucher won't usually attack, so it's not likely to get huge for it. Does green really get a 2/2 death-touch for
though? Seems slightly over-strong.
discard to chittering rats effect, added a mana
Again, depending on exactly what we decide is okay piewise for these things.

See Defiled Icon.
See Scaleblood Flayer.
Not so sure about the balance here right now -- lots of knobs though.
