Fend Off + Challenge # 028 ...Hang on, there are TWO design challenges of that name. I actually rolled Challenge # 028.

Cycling, fog a single creature. And top-down based on...The Eye of Sauron

Gosh. Well, the eye is the worlds ultimate big bad turning his attention to you. A dread gaze that terrifies those who it falls upon. It directs the Nazgul, and can just outright take over the will of a ring bearer. It can be hidden from, but it can also be attracted by using his rings. It's depicted as wreathed in fire, and is in some way linked to the scrying/communication crystal balls.

Well. I presume 'Sorin' is the not-very-obfuscated 'Sauron'. I know and care nothing, but that's how we file off the serial numbers. The gaze falling upon you is a nice 'affect single creature'. It controls you if you're already influenced; otherwise you're able to escape - and cycling covers that pretty well. And.. yeah, they're pretty much always do that, so make it draw YOU a card too. And this feels like a nicely black card.

It's basically murder+you both draw a card. But they can choose to give you the creature instead, if they prefer. Swap the clauses around, to make it clear that this is the escape clause, rather than the normal option. (Was "may sacrifice it, it they do, etc. etc.")

Cost... well, it's murder. While you do get to draw a card off it, so to they; AND there's a get-out clause. I reckon we can get away with 3. Could use the crappy 'legendary sorcery' tech and go lower; but that tech is horrid.

Hmm, odd that I went with the effect - I guess "Sorin's Oculus" would be {t} to cast this effect. But I like it this way.
