The saprolings here represent corn.

I used the gold token for simplicity in reading the card design. While I personally prefer other ways to represent currency, I think using the Gold token here is the clearest way to confer the idea I'm trying to get at: a farmer selling their crops.

Why not a 0/1 green Plant token? It's more traditionally associated with the 0/1 size and corn is actually a plant.

Any reason the token doesn't have any ability?

I like the creature type Worker.

Reminds me of Thallid... and by extension Elvish Farmer/Mycologist...

I forgot saprolings were 1/1s and plants 0/1s. I'll change that immediately.

The Gold token is supposed to have the normal Gold token ability, I just didn't write that part out.

How much would this have to cost if it got you the token as an upkeep trigger? The same? Maybe it should be an upkeep trigger. I mean, you are mostly going to tap this at the last moment anyway, so I'm not certain we care about the difference.

I think you want to change the creature type in the activation cost of the second ability as well.

There is a fringe benefit from storing the mana in Gold tokens, but since you can convert tokens at instant speed to Gold and then the Gold at mana ability speed to mana there is something to be said for the alternative option to convert the creature tokens directly to mana. It's obviously a difference if the main creature dies and with acrificing during combat, but the main theme is preserved.

Hmmm... I think I have an idea.

So, this is where I would take the concept: Industrious Farmer.

Cool card. The formatting is a bit weird right now, i'd change the 3 to a "three" and maybe take out the line space

not to be confusing, but I think three plants is way too much for 1 mana. Maybe just make it one for one? Or two for one? Three for one seems bad even in a build-around deck or any kind of plant spam & sack decc

In response to you not using worker: My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined.

The type should be specified when creating the token in the first ability. (The only time you omit the type is if it is a predefined token; this is the case for the second ability but not the first one.) (You should write: "Create a 0/1 green Plant creature token")

Furthermore, "plants" in the second ability should be "Plants" (capitalized).

Even more furthermore, if the Gold token has its usual ability, just write "create a Gold token"; since the type (artifact) is not specified, that means that it is a predefined token, so the token will have "Sacrifice this artifact: Add one mana of any color."
