That's quiet a common mechanic. It is often outperformed by more splashy mechanics like mostrosity that allow a singular burst growth.

On the flip-side, it's something you can put on more things. And green certainly gets slow continual growth.

I like it. (Technically, it's undercosted. I mean, look at Exemplar of Strength. I played that card in pre-release too, and it was often a wrecking ball. But assuming the costs are right, it's a good mechanic.)

I'm not talking about flip-sides. Many people have come up with this mechanic, but 9/10 times +1/+1 counters just could be used better.

It might have a lot to do with the fact that having a 6/6 Sturdy Hatchling just is the better choice if you want an upper limit for growth.

Hm. I agree that this is an obvious idea and monstrosity like effects mgiht be better.

But I'm not sure about the sturdy hatchling thing. I think that just looks really complicated, and is disappointing to players when you get negative counters all over it, and only works in a -1/-1 set, when dinosaurs want LARGENESS COUNTERS :)
