Still musing on various mount mechanics. I was originally going to make this not-a-creature when it was attached, but I wanted creature destruction to work on it.

I considered giving mounts the umbra ability too, but decided it worked without.

I'm not sure if this is still sufficiently clear, but I feel like I'm still finding variants which are interesting in some way even if they're not straightforward enough to be used.

Wait, so does the creature targeted have to be +2/+2?

If not, this feels really similar to Bestow, well more like Bestow if it were equipmenty. I guess there's room to work it.

You could use something like the Pearlspear Courier template.

Oops, yes, I'm trying to say "Attach this to target creature. That creature has +2/+2 as long as its mounted." I played with a shorter wording but it didn't work.

Is there any benefit to equipment using a new keyword rather than the ashnod's battle gear template?
