Can somebody explain to me why this needs to exile itself? I'd understand if it were capable of looping itself, but it can't!

Good question

Two copies of Good as New can create a lot of canisters. Whether that's a bug or a feature is debatable.

@gariepy: No they can't. They can't return each other because they can't return nonpermanent cards. What did you think I meant when I said "not capable of looping itself"?

I quite like the use of modern artifact token tech to make costless one-shot voltaic keys.

I quite like design concepts that let a card leave around a little something to make you feel extra-good about casting them.
