Name change (still crappy and generic though)

sweet & simple. would almost prefer it without the bonus, simplifies the card and gives you room to make the "exiled card matters" parts better

ideas

  • generic bonus/additional bonus if from same race/class
  • generic bonus/additional bonus if same name
  • add +1/+1 counters equal to difference between creatures power/exiled creatures power

Credit for the idea for ancestry goes to kixleart.

I assume by "without the bonus" you mean the p/T bonus. That would make a simple card like Respectful Descendant useless.

nah you can just add "as long as ~ has an ancestor, it gets +1/+1". means you can add other bonuses instead as well

You can add other bonuses without getting rid of the +1/+1. I don't really see a reason to remove it.

your call

Not really. I didn't even make the mechanic. I do prefer mechanics that actually do something, though.
