See Bloodline Shaman. This is an otherwise vanilla creature with my version of Ancestry.
These effects almost always are 1/1 (Court Homunculus, Young Wolf, Kitesail Apprentice, Skarrgan Pit-Skulk, Kolaghan Stormsinger, Devoted Retainer etc.), unless they start as 0/1 for whatever reason (Cloudfin Raptor, Bond Beetle).
True, but most of those can either be played on turn one and "powered up" later, or have an additional ability that makes them more flexible. This would be difficult to play as a 2/3 on turn one, or even two, depending on the environment, and it's otherwise vanilla.
Link: I assume the reminder text is "Put a +1/+1 counter on it?"
You mean instead of "this gets +1/+1?" That's not the mechanic as kixleart designed it. I think the idea is that the exiled card will be there to remind you that this is getting a bonus. After all, on cards like Bloodline Breaker, you're probably keeping the successor under the card anyway.
Oh cool. I guess that works as well. I now imagine chopping off gran gran's decomposed head and carrying it with me to battle.
:O
