this effect feels underwhelming considering Eyeblight Assassin though I like it for thopter killing

A 3/1 can trade a lot better than a 2/2. I did have it as a 3/2 originally but that felt kinda nuts.

what about removing raid from this card and making a raid instant/sorcery?

removed raid condition

My goal was to keep as many Raid cards creatures, because the Raid deck wants lots of creatures. For example if we look to KTK, we see that 3/4 of the Raid commons were creatures.

now only hits opponent's creatures so it doesn't kill itself

A change to encourage the B/G sacrifice archetype.

Now triggers upon death, rather than ETB.

What about a raid death trigger? The sacrifice deck can sac it before damage to save something else or after if it wasn't blocked and they need to finish something off but it wouldn't be such a powerful blocker.

Is that even necessary? I like it how it is. It secretly encourages raid since even if they block you get value out of it. It also encourages saccing it.

I wouldn't make it too hamfisted.

I agree, I think this design is in a good spot already.
