See Embalming Expertise. I felt the two easiest routes to work with my mummies were to either give them a starting p/t and then a way to recur them from the graveyard, but that didn't amount to anything beyond an unearth-style ability. The second option seemed to want self-mill or discard. I guess this felt more mummyish to me.
