See Philosopher's Banter. I thought about excess effects that don't work as effectively if have excess. One iteration of this interaction I toyed with was having the excess version dealing causing a greater loss of life, but you not receiving any gain off of that. I didn't come to a numbers balance that I liked (increased life loss automatically sets you up for another excess), so I thought about causing less loss of life and adding another effect.

Followed Blood Tithe's format more and upped life lost on excess to 3.

Given the Pulse of the Dross, Pulse of the Grid etc cycle, I think these cards are fine, but would just spell out their effect without mentioning "excess".

That was my worry. I was trying to make a mechanic, but I was worried this didn't need a name tacked on.

Yeah,I don't really think this concept fits well with a keyword
