I like the idea, but I feel it might work better as an alternate cost, similar to suspend.

I don't know... that alternate cost seems like it would chunk up an otherwise simple card. And let's say this had a cost of {3}{u} with Buffer {1}{u}. Wouldn't it be all the more frustrating if you never saw that third Island?

I mean, I can see the uses of having an alt. cost. It's just weird, since they're supposed to be there to make sure you get the card to go off anyway. If you can pay the alt. cost, though, you can cast a spell that has the same cost as the alt. cost. Alt. cost might be the right thing to do anyway... just weird.

"Otherwise simple?" This is forced to reference the stack, and no spell with Buffer would ever be useful on its own.

It is kind of neat how you could cast a (presumably discounted) Buffer spell for {g}, then next turn another one for {1}{u}, and get the first effect for a discount overall.
