I don't like pushed dual lands, I don't know why I'm constantly drawn to designing them. I think partly, challenge, and partly, I want ones built for my niche decks in particular, rather than just "really good".

Here's another variant, I may have seen before, but I can't remember where. Is it too good if you skip the first OR second turn?

Or, as always, the same "not quite ETBT" drawback could be used on mono-lands with a small upside.

Wacky! I don't see anything like this on Multiverse, anyway.

I think this is probably okay, power-level-wise, but it's hard to be sure. It's very good for "holding mana up", especially for counterspells that you probably won't need to use two turns in a row in the early game. It's significantly more fiddly to remember than just ETBT though.

Thanks!

Yes, I agree, I like the idea, but it's difficult to remember.

I also considered other variations on the ETB drawback, eg:

  • "~ ETBs tapped unless you tap an untapped creature you control"
  • "The turn you played ~, you may use mana it produces only to cast creature spells."
  • "The turn you played ~, if you spend mana it produced to cast a creature spell, it ETBs tapped" ...

Morph {t}. Flip ~: {g/u}
