:D I love it!

Thanks! I was trying to envision how white might enable Hope Solidified.

Oh, nice. It's a more interesting hoser than just "can't be cast", I like it.

"name a card or creature on the battlefield" is a bit clunky but I think is probably correct, since it lets you name either a creature card you expect to be played later or a token.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure if "you choose whether creatures with that name attack/block" works, if it was "attacks or blocks if able" it would be ok, but I think the rules don't work if different players choose for different creatures in the same attack.

What about the template from Boros Battleshaper?

@Jack V: I agree that it's clunky, but I was attempting to include tokens, as you guessed.

@dude1818: How would you word that?
"At the beginning of each combat, choose whether creatures with the chosen name attack or block this combat if able, or whether they can't attack or block this turn." "At the beginning of each combat, choose one — • Creatures with the chosen name attack or block this turn if able; • Creatures with the chosen name can't attack or block this turn."
I admit that the current wording isn't perfect or possibly even right, but I can't think of something that's not utterly clunky.

This might just be because I've been doing a lot of for loops in Python recently, but what about your second suggestion, but with "At the beginning of each combat, for each creature with the chosen name, choose one - that creature attacks or blocks this turn if able; or that creature can't attack or block this turn."?

Oh yes. I do like this. I won't make you change sides, but I will make you decide whether or not to fight.

Hmm, you don't get to decide what it blocks? That actually feels more red than white to me. Less "I give you permission" and more "Yeah, you're gonna go fight something". But it's probably fine this way; and explicitly choosing the fights is too much bluer maybe.

This is potentially a pretty scary shutdown, mind you. Against a combat deck it's 1-for-4 (or even worse for a token deck) removal. But eh, that's just a rarity warning really.
