This is supposed to be big and splashy, but I'm not sure of the exact boost it should give?

Oh yes! Not surprising I would come up with a very similar idea given the flavour :)
This is a nice representation of the flavor. I like the loss of flying and addition of trample. The P/T boost feels appropriate, too.
