interesting idea, should read "Tap an untapped creature you control,
: Draw a card."
to make tapping a creature part of the cost not the effect.
The way it is currently worder, you tap this, draw a card, and THEN see if there is an untapped creature to tap, if not...oh well card is already drawn.
Well, actually it's even more confusing than that. Because the ability has a target, the target needs to still be legal when the ability resolves or the whole thing will be countered.
But yeah, it should read as Camruth said.
Hmmm. Yeah, I know the ability reads strangely, but I was trying to have something along the same lines as my other mentors: (((Sadistic Mentor))) and Impatient Mentor.
People will still get the connection, even if the ability is phrased slightly differently, though.
It's a bit odd to have this end up so similar to Resplendent Mentor, when the rest of your Mentor cycle have been so pleasingly different from Shadowmoor's Mentor cycle.
