maybe the searing blood template works better. "When a creature dealt damage this way dies this turn, put growth counters equal to the number of counters on that creature on target creature you control."

card seems quite weak, and the effect pretty narrow? And for some non-zero number of the growth dudes they can just empty them in all in resp. I want more out of a 6 cmc uncommon.

yeah good point, this was an early uncommon; hadn't made all the growth counter creatures/enablers yet

been looking for another DD spell at common as well
