Loxodon Peacekeeper + Pray to the Horse God

Cheap 4/4 that moves to the weakest player; and... how odd. X counters; gives you a fight every turn (but you can't choose to not use it) until it runs out of counters; and then gives something double-strike.

Nifty little combo. A fighting creature that moves control is one obvious mash.

Peacekeeper though. "Creatures deal no damage when they fight"? I'll toss in combat too, as the simpler way to forestall the obvious questions.

Mmm, unsure. The original imagery of the peacekeeper is that it's a bigass elephant wtibh a bigass mace, and it's likely to sit on the defence (because it sides with whoever is hurt worst)

This doesn't capture any of that. It's all prayer.

White gets drawback 4/4 as cheap as 2 (as demo'd here, but there are others too) 4/4 no-drawback flyers at 4) so I reckon it isn't unreasonable to have "Gain X elephants, one a turn"

I could use suspend to do it, but meh - no reson to overcompilcate.

This is probably a bit of a trap spell - you're best off just casting it for a couple; but the temptation will be there to overcharge it.

Maybe I should add some kind of "Disenchant this and they ALL enter play." rider to make it both less vulnerable and also more of a combo component? Yeah; I reckon that's valid. A shame that I can't use "exiled while this is in play" on tokens though.

Hmm. "While this is in play, don't put 4/4 elephant tokens into play.." no, too convoluted.

Blegh, this is way too wordy. I really want "~ ETBs with X suppressed 4/4 elephant tokens. Unsuppress one in your upkeep, or all of them when this leaves play." - which would be fine, apart from the keyword reminder text for 'suppress'. And exiled tokens vanishing forever. Bleegggh.

Reminds me of Decree of Justice. Or in fact of Aeon Chronicler and his cycle, particularly Benalish Commander. So this is a 4/4 for 5 with an extra turn of summoning sickness, or two 4/4s for 6 (gradually), 3 4/4s for 7 (at which point it's reminiscent of Hunting Pack), etc. Seems... pretty cool. You only really want to cast it for 7+ unless you've got proliferate around.

I do like the Disenchant-protection. More things should have that. Is it a problem that you can bounce this yourself once the counters run out to recast it for more? Probably not.

Indeedy; the intention is that you can bounce it repeatedly to get the elephants right away. (I was thinking disenchant it yourself; but bouncing is clearly superior)

Still, if you're throwing around that much mana and an unsummon effect; you probably deserve a small herd of elephants.
