Mashup of Precinct Captain and Crown of Fury.

It's a bit wordy, but I wanted to keep both abilities. Any way of cutting it down? The stats come from applying the boost to the existing creature.

I'd suggest moving the combat damage trigger to being part of the sacrifice (so it gives you a soldier and boosts all your soldiers)

Hmm. So it'd be like Selfless Cathar mixed with Doomed Traveler.

I think I prefer the approach Jack already took. It's one heck of an on-board trick.
