Delif's Cone + Nestene Consciousness
.... Ok, so, all I have to say about the first is that it has to be pronounced with a capital COHHHHNE! (And a short squeaky delif)
Uh, right, ok. So we're mashing a mystical lightning-sparking cone, with Doctor Who. That should take about five minutes and a roll of styrofoam quarry-rocks.
Serious-being... The cone was kinda crap even when it came out. It is a 0-cost artifact that self-sacrifices, which has uses; but all it does is either nullify one attacking creature, or turn one of your creatures into half-lifelink; for a turn.
The nestene critter is... a lord. Gets really huge if minions exist; and pumps those minions, and creates minions... Wow; it's almost every possible lord type all at once.
All that's missing is "Steal control of". Which makes me tempted to make "Traffic Warden :
: Take control of all cones". Which would so completely be a viable 'Who' villain name.
... dammit. My brain's stuck on that now. Can't think of something better to do.
Right, ok - going to mechanics, how about a lifelink-lord? That's quite a nice boost, and a worthy hoser. Lifelink is primarily green and white; I say white is most appropriate here - it plays into whites "pre-emptive counterspell" thing.
So Delif already has a cone and a cube. Let's give him a... tetradon. It looks like an emasculated pyramid, but transforms into a dinosaur ;) - hah! Actually, it's a pufferfish!
So there we go. It's a coloured artifact; but that's just Delifness. I guess I could upcost it? Rare I reckon, could maybe go uncommon. Cost... 3 ish? Slivers got it at 3, on a body (Syphon Sliver). This has the nerf-ability so probably reasonable recompense for not actually adding to your tribe. Though, not caring WHAT tribe it goes for.. maybe upcost slightly. Go for 4. Whip of Erebos is there.
Another possibilty would have been a literal "Lord of Lifelink" - something like "All creatures with lifelink have +1/+1,
:Target creature has lifelink UEOT"? That feels greenish.
This doesn't actually work as a hoser. Lifelink gives the life to the creature's controller (as opposed to Spirit Link which gave the life to the controller of the Aura).
If you just said "Whenever a creature of the chosen type deals damage, you gain that much life", that'd work as a hoser.
But yes, I rather like the idea of a lord of lifelinkers - similar to Sprite Noble or some such.
