This has to cost more than {u}; its most promising usage is in countering your own alternative cost spells like Archive Trap, Skyshroud Cutter, or Nourishing Shoal.

true. 1U doesn't seem like it'll be used at all except in draft. I can make it 1R, but spell-countering isn't in the R colour pie.
