Are we going to change this to use industry counters like we talked about a while back?
I seem to recall we came up with something like this...
Industrial Expansion
Instant
As an additional cost to cast ~, sacrifice [some number of lands I can't remember how many].
Put an Industry counter on up to three target lands. (Lands with Industry counters on them have ": Add to your mana pool.")
I prefer the current card because it's cleaner. A card that costs is hard to process even before you cast it, I'd like to keep the effect simple for that reason, which is why all of the cards in this cycle are pretty straight forward.
Also, I personally just don't like industry counters. (And I like the flavor of this card).
Yeah I can see the appeal of simplistic design for this cycle. I'm fine with leaving it as is, I was just bringing up the previous discussion we had had over on salvation. :)
As for industry counters, when did you start to dislike them? (genuine question) In our set conversations over on salvation you seemed favorable towards them.
Also 3/3/3 is a nice touch, helps you get your head round it.
I like the idea of industry counters. I don't like them as a set mechanic. We can use industry counters, but I'd rather save them for special cards like Richard Ferron.
Basically, I like them and am willing to use them again, but I don't think they should be in the mechanic tool box like steampowered or modular are.
I can accept that reasoning. We can leave it as is but I would like to change the name to Diabolic Dividends instead of Demonic Dividends.
I still like the name Demonic Dividends but I can see why you'd want to change it. Let's see what everyone else thinks.
