For Challenge # 074

OK, another treasure-uncovering mechanic. I think the name is a bit too goofy to be printed, but maybe there's something similar? "Loot" would be perfect but already means something else.

I wanted another simple way of representing digging up treasure, and this seemed to work reasonably well, providing some repeatability but a) conditionally and b) on an effect which has a diminishing effect as it's repeated.

There's still a problem with the rules. I want to say "only one booty card triggers per creature" but I'm not sure how to fit that on.

I don't know. I don't really think you need to restrict yourself to one. I think the idea of all the booty cards going off at once is exciting, and should be encouraged.

Oh... hey, this isn't flashback with commando trigger. This is supposed to cast (not put on the battlefield, I assume) every turn? Hmm... kind of like Cipher++ eh?

It also has this weird conundrum. I have a 2/1 creature in play, and there's an empty board. Pirate Raid is in my graveyard, and you have a lot of artifacts in your deck. What's the correct play? Don't attack. I don't have a target for Pirate Raid, and will be forced to exile it.

Not attacking isn't very fun. I'd suggest either removing the tough targeting restriction ('target player sacrifices an artifact' works here) or just returning the card to your hand. Personally, I think your better off returning the card... but I'd understand if you wanted to make cards with different Booty costs than Casting Costs. After all, this set seems to be getting very graveyard oriented. Maybe it's natural for pirates to interact with the dead zone? Sure is a lot of burying going on here.

Oh, all that, or trigger once, like I thought it did. I still think that sounds the most exciting. I could see people all out attack, and lose a lot of material advantage, just to make their graveyard explode. Sounds fun.

Oops, it was supposed to be "return to hand". Although as you point out, in some ways it would be weaker if you had to cast it immediately because sometimes you can't.
