Mash-up of Waylay and Nuclear Strike

From Tactical Nuke I took the idea of a limited wrath on the table, and from waylay the idea of destroying attacking creatures with a permanent.

I'm not sure how expensive this should be. It can punish attacking quite a lot, but the net effect is likely to be causing the opponent to attack with their second-best creature every turn.

I also considered a "destroy all attacking and blocking creatures" effect, which could be interesting, but I think deserves its own card.

Did you mean Tactical Nuke? Huh; guess not. Tactical Nuke?

Ok - why are NONE of these working? Alex?

Ooh. Bother. Someone created an older Tactical Nuke than the one Jack saw, but it's in a private cardset, so nobody except me has permission to see it.

I'll fix the links.

Yeah, the link should be to Nuclear Strike or Tactical Nuke, but not Tactical Nuke.

ROFL! Oops, I should have checked. Yes, I saw http://multiverse.heroku.com/cards/20695

I think it's nastier than holding them to attacking with second best - it encourages a ground-stall, as attacking with anything less than "This will kill more of your stuff than mine, or maybe get some through" is silly; and if they can attack with bigger than that, you pop this at them; and lose nothing. So they've lost a big chunk. So seeing this, they KNOW they need to outnumber you 3-1, and combats stall out until they can achieve this.

White gets a huge number of such effects - but they, at least, are not "I know this is coming" they are "Maybe this is coming, maybe I can risk it"

Still - at some cost, this card is fair. It's just probably too annoying to be this cheap.

Good point. Hm. Maybe this would actually be more interesting if it was just "destroy TARGET attacking creature". I think that card's been made somewhere, but I can't remember where.

Artifacts: Pit Trap? Sandstone Deadfall? White gets it on a creature: Mine Bearer But mostly on instants: Just Fate Eightfold Maze

On here, we've got: Dispersal Cannon, which is close (but sacs a land to use)

It's a ground stall card. I don't think that's a bad thing... we just don't make or see too many of them for obvious reasons. The easy way to foil this, of course, is to not attack with all your creatures... possibly until the game is over because your oppoenent refuses to activate. The awesome thing to do with this is to play this and Grand Melee.

Heh; that's evil. And if you can attack, for gain, with only some of your creatures; well, you're in the "I'm winning the combat 3-1" situation.

But yes, I agree - having a few cards that encourage a stall are ok. Some people like to hide behind walls and build up a huge combo, or whatever.

I just think this is a bit too good for being quite cheap.
