For Challenge # 063. We haven't seen any Schemes for a while, and this seemed like a good time to get a little goofy with the frame. I initially wanted players to receive a present if they called right... perhaps a 2/2 artifact creature Toy token... but the scheme was complex enough that I decided to just stick to damaging players who chose wrong.

Also, I got to admit, I'm not sure how to deal with the URL for art in schemes. Unless the picture is of the exact correct dimensions, The card art seems to display the top left corner of the art and call it a day. I could clean this up, shrink and crop it, but it just seems like too much work for right now. Maybe when and if I move it to archenemy schemes.

I know the holiday cards follow un-set rules, but the problem with this is that you can't prove what you chose.

That Santa is really creepy.

Oh no, by all means, no need to follow un-set rules, do your best to make it a printable card

Now we just need you to do the rest of the cycle You Better Watch Out, This Card, You Better Not Shout, I'm Tellin' You Why.......Santa Claws is comin' to Town
No, that wasn't a typo :-)

Well, I'm assuming you wrote it down, or you have two facedown cards that you choose from. Had this not been a holiday card, I would have spelled it out. Since it is, though, I assumed that creative players would come through, in the same way that we don't tell players how to choose a permanent at random on the table.

opponent's -> opponents'

You know, Chris, I actually thought about this one. I assumed that Wizards would use the singular, since you could be playing a game against one opponent (besides completely unfair one on one games, this comes up often in multiplayer if you're doing well as the archenemy...). That said, it could be plural possessive, since that's the more likely option to happen. I don't know. A Gatherer search tells me that neither word has appeared on any archenemy cards...

I would make it an upkeep effect to resolve issues with card grammar.

Mostly, I just chose the wording that appears on a few other Archenemy cards. A lot of them say "When you set this scheme into motion", and a lot of them talk about your opponent's next turn, and a lot of them won't let something happen on your next upkeep... which I assume is because another scheme will be set into motion before your next upkeep, and that's confusing. I can see why Wizards makes these decisions, but I agree that it's open to debate.
