It does allow you to target the same creature for both effects.

And sure, and indeed being able to split it is odd. It's just worded more like "Green creature gains X! Blue creature gains Y! (Sneaky: Green/Blue gets both!)" But, well, a coin won't do that. Hence the hustler.
