History:

2012-07-21 06:22:47: jmgariepy created the card The Dread Helmsman, Maroney

For Challenge # 048. Something that was skipped with the first Weatherlight were actual sailors, which I tried to correct by giving this ship a helmsman. Maroney used to belong to a ghost pirate ship which the crew fought in the clouds. The Ghost Ship was destroyed, but it gave The New Weatherlight hell. Maroney's a genius of a helmsman, even in death, and when the crew plundered the Ghost Ship, they took Maroney with them, retooled him, and chained him to the helm.

The first ability on Maroney is supposed to represent how he protects you from curses. The second ability... I wanted something that turned Maroney sideways and felt like the whole ship went into a different realm. So I flickered your field. At first, it picked up everything, but I wasn't happy that there was little reason for Maroney to remain black, so I added the +1/+1 counter, -1/-1 counter thing. I know they never print both in the same block. Maybe this block is an exception.

Every time I come to say something about one of your cards, you've already said it.
