Seems worse than a number of 1BB flyers, such as Faerie Macabre, Hypnotic Specter or Vampire Nighthawk. The "high flying" ability would be fine on a black creature, but the stats can be a bit better than this.

What was this mashed up from?

On the flip side - it's a cheapish common flyer. Could probably be {b}{2} but the difference is pretty minimal. As people keep telling me; a card doesn't have to be the very best card available for a cost ;)

Im not sure, but I think black tends to have weak flying in limited, ie. common black fliers are relevant with much weaker stats. im not sure how weak

Common black flyers do tend to have some kind of drawback,. that's true. And I wouldn't argue this should be 3/1 like Rishadan Airship - certainly not at common. I think I'd go for {2}{b} though. Otherwise this is like a Mindless Null: playable in limited, yes, but nobody wants to have to play it.

Edit (ovetaken by Alex's common): Black common seems to have a lot of 2B 2/1, 1BB or 3B 2/2 upside. 2B 2/1 seems to see very little play but has been staple for a while. There are a few above this curve which aren't terrible, and a couple of more recent ones (Vampire Interloper and Liliana's Specter) which seem to show wizards going for more "niche" than "weak" in common black fliers.

So I'm really bad at competitive pointing, but this seems about right -- I agree 2B would probably be a bit preferable.

Was a mashup of Spineless Thug and Ground Rift, I think. Also, its cost is now {2}{b}.
