Decided to keep it as a common; I can just about see this card existing as not-very-good artifact removal.

Maybe I should have had it put a +1/+1 counter somewhere as an 'or' clause?

Hmm. I like the card, but you're right... 'destroy target artifact creature' probably costs {w} straight up. But maybe it doesn't? Good artifact removal is hard to come by cheap in White nowadays.

Either way, I could see this as 'the bad creature removal' spot in a white skeleton. White normally gets one good removal spell and one bad removal spell nowadays. This would cover the second half, while still being a viable sideboard choice against some very specific deck archetypes.
