Does this even work? Does a planeswalker spell, on the stack, hold the information containing the loyalty of the planeswalker spell that it is?

Hmmm; had to look this up - but yup, it works without needing any fiddly wording:
209.1. Each planeswalker card has a loyalty number printed in its lower right corner. This indicates its loyalty while it’s not on the battlefield

Right well, this could be a standard all-star or draft chaff depending on what number you stick in the casting cost.
