The poison counter is there to prevent infinite mana abuse, maybe this could be used by WOTC more often? Though, with how fast most formats are, I suppose infinite combos on turn 10 aren't that unhealthy for the game.

Also, I made it trigger on being tapped rather than having it part of the tap ability. This is technically a nerf since now having your stuff be tapped is extra bad, but I think it needs to work this way for the tap ability to count as a mana ability, right?

The only rules about mana abilities are that they can't target and can't be loyalty abilities. In fact, this would work well as "T, Gain a poison counter: Add CC. Etc." Otoh, MaRo has mentioned before that he tried having a dual land with that drawback in Future Sight, and it ended up just being a Bayou because poison doesn't matter 9 times out of 10
