Son of a!!! Back to the drawing board...

EDIT: Or no, wait, isn't there some kind of rules fiddliness that distinguishes taking damage versus losing life? Maybe it should say, "For all intents and purposes, this is combat damage," to further distinguish the two...Any ideas on how to template that?

~ deals combat damage to each player equal to the number of creatures he or she controls.

It's not exactly identical to Stronghold Discipline, but it's clearly close enough to make the cards comparable, and to suggest that the cost of this one is a bit low.

To be fair, no one really played Stronghold Discipline. It may be a bit much to make it an instant at that casting cost, but I don't think dropping it to 2cc, and increasing it rarity is all that broken...

After all, {1}{r} probably deals 4 damage to target player, and 2 damage to you nowadays. How many creatures do you think your opponent will have on the battlefield by round 6?

Okay, I +1cc'ed it, and changed creatures to artifacts, which puts it in a totally different ballpark...How is it now?
