Possibly slightly too weak out of format, so I made it equip 0 - which with the minerals is possibly slightly too good.
Argh.
It's still unplayable even with the minerals as they stand, because they're double-card-disadvantage and this does nothing.
Look at it this way: in-set this is the same as:
> Equipped creature has "
: This fights target Demon of Armok." and "
: Target creature is unaffected by Overly Hasty Crane this turn."
It only does anything at all if the opponent has and draws and plays one of two specific cards. Utterly unplayable.
This should grant a small P/T bonus, something like +1/+0 or +0/+2. That'd make it more playable, which would make minerals (fractionally) more playable.
Yeah - true. I was kinda grasping for keywords I could add; and wanted some reach in set.
I think a power bonus rather than toughness - the set does need more things to disrupt the (deliberate) battlefield stall.
Wanting some reach = good. Making a card that does nothing except give reach = bad.
Actually, given DF's emphasis on crafting masterwork weapons and armour made from the best metals you can forge, there's definitely room for some more in-universe-flavoured equipment.
Actually; maybe this should be where scary mask gets its comeuppance.
Equipped creature is an Artifact creature with +1/+0 and reach?
Buuhh. Pretty odd flavour. The dwarf is imbuing himself into the hunting net?
(Was step ladder)
Ok - so now it's comeuppance for scary mask, needs a bit of flavour text to really cement this in place as a fey-mood though.
Fortunately, gaining "Equipped creature has all abilities of CARDNAME except equip" doesn't cause a recursive loop, but only because the referent changes with the granted version of the ability, and creatures will obviously never be equipped to things.
Also, "CARDNAME is all colors" should really be using a color indicator now that the technology exists, even though that spits in the card's face a bit. Just another reason why they don't make cards like this.
Technically, you could probably put the "doesn't gain equip" in (reminder text), since it couldn't do that anyways. Otherwise, the game would get a little nuts every time an artifact-equipment became a creature.
The 'Technology' doesn't exist in multiverse yet. And I figure the 'equipment that copies itself' is an unusual enough thing that it's worth calling out.
give it +1/+0 too
@jmg: That's technically not true. It would gain equip if the card didn't prohibit it; if the creature is an Elemental, then you could activate the equip ability to pump your Ceaseless Searblades. But a creature can't be attached to anything so the ability won't do anything when it resolves.
FWIW, the colour indicator technology exists in Multiverse now.
Hmm. Is colour indicator an ability, that would be inherited by the equipped creature?
Oh, heh, I see. I'd forgotten what the above conversation was about. No, it's not, so it doesn't do anything to Scary Mask. D'oh. That would be what SM was talking about when he said "Just another reason why they don't make cards like this."
BTW, your turn in Dominion.
