The only flying creature in the set. (Though blue gets a mass-jump)
And it's really quite bad. Or at least, very restrictive. Unless you can feed it a cat token every turn.
Well, I wanted something relatively cheap. I guess I could make this the multi-removal and have the rare be an even bigger flying demon. But then the 'block flyers' stuff becomes REALLY useless.
How cheap am I allowed to make a black flyer with drawback?
You could just make this a black Air Elemental and it'd be fine. Or give it some minor ability that affects each player equally and cost it at 5 or 6 not 4. Perhaps "each player sacrifices a creature", or even "Each player sacrifices a creature unless he or she has 4 or more lands in his or her graveyard"?
How about instead of sac every turn it has an ETB ability of "Each player sacs a creature for each land in their graveyard"?
Gleep! That'd need to be at least rare.
made the sac symmetrical
Just a quick note: I think this works out as the whole ability shuts off if any one of your opponents has >=4 lands in gy. But it could easily be read as "for each player, that player sacs a creature unless one of that player's opponents has >=4 lands in gy".
Um. Now you've confused me.
What I want is For each player, does opponent have lots of dead lands? Yes? Do nothing. No? Sac a creature.
What do you mean by "opponent"? One of that player's opponents, or one of the Demon's controller's opponents?
Logic table time! My intent is: If we BOTH have 4 dead lands, no sac. If YOU have 4 lands, I don't sac, you do. If I have 4 lands, I sac, you don't. If neither of us do, both sac.
make explicit
This... really should be a rare. It's way too fiddly for uncommon, and way too powerful.
On the flip side, it's a build hint card "Hey, flyer. Ground stall and land destroy until this guy can beat them down"
Not sure.
