Mountain + Planeswalker
Tibalt's mountain, in case it matters; and... "Planeswalker".
Whelp; guess I'm making a red planeswalker. Specifically; Tybalt. That famous apple-merchant, totally not a member of the order of whispers, kind of hilariously bad at being a pirate, fuzzy murder-kitty.
(guildwars has some weird lore when you look at it)
So, hmm. How to turn that into a magic card? Tyb's most famous feature is apples, and making many many corny jokes about them. And he sacrifices himself to get word out about a dragon. And he was probably an engineer. As a member of the order of whispers; he does infiltration (as, yes, an apple seller).
Hmm. Temporary change of loyalty is red, right? So what I kind of want is a way to temporarily gift him to you; and then he comes back with some kind of benefit. How do we represent information? I could gift him to you and in return look at your hand, or your face-down cards?
And then, while he's with you, you can get some small benefit from him? Well what the heck - we have food tokens now. He can actually literally go over to a player and sell them apples.
So hey; looked at another way - I've filed the serial numbers off of snow-white's wicked queen, and made her into a cat. Perfect for the new fairy-tale set.
Ooops! Forgot to give a cost; just left the
on that I first placed there to remind me I was making a red card. Can this cost 1? Food tokens are a pretty minimal thing, and revealing morphs is also niche. ... what the heck. It's pushed (especially at 5 loyalty) but let's leave it here. It certainly doens't want to cost more than 3 or so.
These monocolored red cards that create Food tokens just don't sit right with me.
Well, true; it can be used as
: Gain 2 life.
I hadn't really considered that. Humph. I guess he ought to cost
. Those are, at least, still both cat colours.
Or alternately I need to find a different benefit for having him on your team.
