Uh; is this meant to re-animate a thing more than once? The name suggests it, but I'm pretty sure it still falls off when the creature dies. Nice idea and flavour, though.

The relevant SBA is "704.5m If an Aura is attached to an illegal object or player, or is not attached to an object or player, that Aura is put into its owner’s graveyard." The clever wording of this enchant ability means that the creature dying doesn't make it an illegal object, so this SBA doesn't apply and the aura remains on the battlefield.

Well you can see animate dead enchanting a creature card in the graveyard. Originally I wanted it to read, "Enchant creature card" but I think that would mean it could technically enchant cards in your hand, graveyard, exile, etc. Which would function mostly fine if they're revealed but what's to stop you enchanting a card in your hand that only you know about? Or a card in your deck that even you can't see.

Well you can see Animate Dead also explicitly has text that causes it to become attached to the creature as it moves zones.

The so-called "clever wording" here is not enough.

You need a line akin to "~ remains attached to the enchanted card or permanent as it moves to the graveyard or battlefield." Cards changing zones become new objects and the Aura only notices that the previous object ceased existing and its now no longer attached to a creature card in either zone.

Animate Dead says "enchant creature card in a graveyard." That means as soon as the create reanimates, it's no longer a legal target for the aura. It's a remnant of the terrible templating from the early days. This 100% works as written

I suggest, you read again. Its enchant ability changes as the card is moved to the battlefield, so it never is an illegal target as SBAs are checked.

No he's right. Animate Dead says, "Return enchanted creature card to the battlefield and attach Animate Dead to it."
