So, it's important to remember that targeting restrictions are checked at two points: During casting of the spell and during resolution.

During casting of this spell you might not yet have charge, so you couldn't e. g. target a spell with cmc 2 yet, because you don't gain the additional charge until resolution of the spell.

A better wording is: "Counter target spell if its converted mana cost is less than your charge." Now the order of abilities helps.

This spell doesn't justify an upper limit of charge. What is it for?

I like this card, and I like charge. Good ideas all around.

Though, I don't like rounding down halfsies. It seems unnecessarily complicated compared to "lose 2" or "lose 1 counter per turn". Also, if you're rounding down, then you will never lose that last counter.

But these are picky points. If Wizards printed this card, I wouldn't be griping about the numbers. I'd be looking for more charge cards.

This is what I get for not making a mechanic through Multiverse. It's supposed to say "rounded up."
