Wow. That's an interesting-but-poor lightning bolt variant. And a knight that gives your everything first strike with a rider of "No, we mean it; theirs don't and yours do" and with a slightly odd interaction if both of you get one (no one has first strike).

So some kind of first-strike-tax? Or "I can bolt you you can't bolt me"?

I guess a direct-damage hoser is the most plausible of those options. Kinda meh though.

This is worded weird. Makes it sound like a one time payment or something...

Maybe "Creatures you control cannot be dealt damage by spells your opponent's control, unless that player pays for each spell targeting a creature you control"?

That kind of replacement is hard to do in the middle of a spell's resolution. I think I'd probably change it to

"Prevent all damage that spells would deal to creatures you control. Any player may pay to suppress this effect until end of turn."

And yeah, I thought I'd been seeing quite a few application error log emails recently. I don't know why it's happening - sorry :(
