You noted yourself how horrible the creature targeting member of the cycle was so far, so why go the same path here. Just use rummaging or something.

Well, I sort of worked myself into a corner, because rummaging or temp-draw would both be "better" than Scry 1, and doing damage would be too similar to life loss.
