Groan! :)
He didn't (um, sorry, I guess that's obvious). It's a silly glitch in my logging code.
I think "just deserts" is more of a white concept than a black one. Which fits, as that effect could probably be white too.
Oh yeah, that's a good idea.
Krasis Watering Hole
For Challenge # 137. Jack hit on a good idea with Starlit Abyss. I riffed off it and made this. Though, I admit, the card makes Timmy unhappy. Maybe activating the colorless ability should add +1/+1 counters instead...
Oh, interesting. I like the idea quite a bit. I think I would have it turn on after a larger number of counters, though.
I think that's a pretty neat way to make a creature-land.
See Challenge # 137. I tried to think of creature abilities which would combo with man-lands, and one was "getting counters", providing both a reminder that the land is animated, and a hoop to jump through to animate it.
You could do something similar, where it gains counters but they only "turn on" when you pay a mana cost to make it a creature (either to become a 1/1, or an expensive activation cost as an ultimate-type ability once you've mounted up several counters).
Living Dunes using awaken technology...
Starlit Abyss another variant that uses +1/+1 counters incrementally to represent awakeness.
See Challenge # 137.
Using awaken technology...
No Man
How did it get me this long to get to this one?? :)
See Challenge # 136.
Don't use man when you mean human. But this is a direct quote and I wasn't sure if I could avoid it.

This is very neat.
Wait, Sorrow, how did you comment on this a year before it was created...? :)
I created Not Aloud // Not Allowed because I couldn't resist, and then a slightly more sensible version with the same name, Not Aloud // Not Allowed
See Challenge # 136.
See Challenge # 136.
Desert // Desert
See Challenge # 136.
OK, we have "desert" as in "just deserts" and "desert" as in "flee".
I'd also hoped to get a reference to "desert" as in "dry" and "dessert" in there, but I couldn't get it to fit :)
I'm not sure. I think of "copy from graveyard" as U/B because all copy effects can be blue, and "copy from graveyard" is really similar to reanimate. By that logic, it could also be W.
But G doesn't get, return from graveyard to battlefield, although it does get "put from hand OTB".
So starting from scratch, I like G having some return from graveyard effects, so this would make sense, but knowing what other effects exist, I'd prefer to leave this in U/B (where I think it's a really good fit), and find another niche for GB.
It was blue in Planar Chaos (Body Double), but I think it could plausibly be
.
My Earth Surge deck would love this :D
Reminds me of Stalwart Druid. (Or Jungle Rearguard. Or Dryad of the Flowered Veil. Or Sunflower, though that's diverging a bit.)
Which seems fine given Blighted Gorge.
Cost seems a little high. At 3 cards I think this would be spot on.
Yikes! It casts Rude Awakening!
This seems pretty good as is. Interesting deckbuilding choice. Not something to throw into any black-white deck the way Shambling Vent is, so good job there.
Good point, it could maybe be cheaper (I naturally undercost so I try to err on the expensive side instead), or it could come down in size.
