Zombie Charm, using 1B, and being (duh) zombie themed.
Hm. True. I was desperately trying to make it better than Fossil Find, but maybe a whole extra card is too good. There must be some simple intersection of "short" and "costs about 2 mana" and "flavour like mining"...
I really like Make a Wish, but I have to admit, it's overcosted. This might be a bit too much of a push, though, as I'd assume the ability would probably cost

by itself.
It's really fancy that the first ability is
, the second ability is
, and the third is
. I like that a lot.
I made ten.
Ordered Charm
Intellectual Charm
Intense Charm
Wild Charm
Communal Charm
Elitist Charm
Underworld Charm
Adaptative Charm
Creative Charm
Proactive Charm
Very nice!
I think all three of those abilities should be at sorcery speed.
Yeah, I'm just not happy with the last ability.
I think option 3 would be okay if it just gave you life.
Ah! I'd forgotten the future sight charms varied in mana cost, I think all the others are in tight cycles, so I didn't realise some 1C costs were still available :)
This makes a lot of sense. I love ACC spells, and flexible ones even more so. A Crop Rotation for basics, a Mutagenic Growth, and a Death Ward are all sensible for the cost of a tapped forest. (Cf Thunderclap and Crash.)
Created Crystal Charm at
(because astonishingly there's no printed Magic charm with that cost).
A flavour-driven entry to Challenge # 081, inspired by Jack's Pit Miner's Charm. Somewhat astonishingly, Magic hasn't yet had a charm with mana cost
.
I tried to think of a Magic-y word with flavour specific enough to inspire mechanics but not so specific it only associates with one mechanic. This is associating "crystal" with prismatic effects and Crystal Spray; artifacts such as Crystal Rod; and making creatures hard to target a la Crystalline Sliver. Some scry a la Crystal Ball would have also been good, but it's already pretty wordy.
Oh, now I come to think of it it caught a bit of attention because it was in the same set as Garruk, Primal Hunter, wasn't it? Who cast Soul's Majesty.
