For Challenge # 095. Also see Yavimaya Firewurm.
I'm not sure this is a good idea, but I decided to swap "direct damage for 1 and 2" and "primary in trample" between red and green.
That means green gets 1 and 2 damage, often as a "only hit creature" instant or as an attack trigger. That's Thornbite Shaman and Scorpion Sting. I tried to make it feel different to red. That frees up the congestion of mana costs on low-cost red burn spells a little.
And the one 6/x creature at common is often red instead of green, which isn't a big change. And you'd print something like Arc Elemental instead of Garruk's Companion which is perfectly printable at the moment but doesn't normally replace green at common.

my bad costing strikes again XD.
Great plan. Makes sense for the same reason Stingscourger did. I think this could be a bit cheaper given that it's effectively Crossway Vampire.
I think "only before blockers are declared" would still be fine. It feels kinda odd to be doing this before attackers.
Should it also say "only on your turn"? Because otherwise this can be used defensively, to fog a creature that's attacking you, and that doesn't feel very red.
Yep, red islandwalk makes a lot of sense. It actually feels weird that red has never had islandwalk given that blue and green have.
Most of the major mechanics were shifted in Planar Chaos, so I would say it's fine to choose a mechanic that was shifted in PC 1; just shift it somewhere else :)
But for my submission, I moved deathtouch into white. Burning Seraph, Too Holy To Touch.
Red gets Islandwalk. Blue is Red's enemy. Freshwater fishes and red Pirates. Goblin Vikings
Slowblink into red: Force Through, Goblin Jailer
Oh, cool idea!
For the record, Rosewater has a list of which mechanics where already shifted in Planar Chaos I:

To use an example from Planar Chaos, let's say I felt that white should have regeneration. I would then make two white creatures with regeneration. I could then go on to design Revered Dead and Dawn Charm. Note that Revered Dead happens to be a color-shifted Drudge Skeleton. I wasn't really looking for those, but I'm not about to tell you how to do your challenge. Maybe, however, you could include the straight-up color-shifted card as a bonus third card entry?
Oh, and also, I kind of assumed that designers wouldn't take mechanics that were already shifted recently, or shifted in Planar Chaos. The point, to me, is to find and explore new space. But again, that's your call.
Heh, yep, that would indeed feel wrong at instant speed. :)
I'm not sayng Enchantments would not work better in somecases, but the challenge is only on sorcery vs. instant so that's not really an issue strictly speaking.
Yeah, I like this, I agree with the logic.
The closest I can think of to "lose the game at instant speed" is Hidetsugu's Second Rite (or maybe Sudden Shock). That doesn't actually say "lose the game", but most of the time it will be the same as "target player loses the game if they have exactly 10 life".
Added Welcome the Void.
For Challenge # 094. I wanted to design a card off of Alex's principle: that gorilla sorcercies have that ineffable quality that makes them incapable of being instants by their very nature. So I went with a big boom, then added a line about losing the game. I don't think there's a card that makes players lose or win the game at instant speed (Okay, Door to Nothingness. But you had to cast the artifact at sorcery speed, is what I mean.) I must admit, though, that I'd like to see a fair card that did win out of nowhere at instant speed. Maybe something to do with catching a player in the act of doing something 'evil' or 'illegal'? Don't know.
Heh, yeah, that certainly qualifies. Hesitation makes me want to believe that this spell should cost at least
more. And it brings with it one of the problems that I keep having with this challenge: Most of the time, whenever I think of a good answer to the challenge, I realize it would probably be better as an enchantment.
