If you equip this to Grizzly Bears for the full
, then use the "equip until end of turn" to move it to Vizzerdrix, is it supposed to go back to Grizzly Bears once the turn is over?
Yeah, the tech is the point of it; I just chose the simplest numbers as an illustration (Leonin if you only need it right now, more if you want it forever; and I think
/
leonin exists somewhere, and this needs to be worse than that to afford being better UEOT.)
There's so MUCH "until Y" can do!
Not gonna swamp my set with example cards, but:
Target creature dies until its owner draws a card.
Tap all creatures until after combat.
Counter target spell until the start of next turn. (Eh, that one should probably be suspend, really. The countering has an unavoidable side-effect that means it won't be around to come back. It could be made to work, I think, though.)
Target creature has deathtouch until it is blocked. (Ok, starting to hit memory problems now, this is better as an aura)
Curse markdown until it honours line breaks in a sane way. (Oh, double space at end of line; OBVIOUSLY)
Wow, I'm not sure if they'd print that, but I think it works under the rules. And is quite a good way of making a "slightly worse than Leonin Scimitar" equipment, which seems to be the baseline for new cheap equipments. (Can safely be equip
I think, although that reduces the contrast.)
Playing with new tech. This seems the simplest and sanest use of "x until y"
The rules manager can change the rules. It's got a silver border :)
only permanents can be destroyed.
Throwaway comment on The Butcher Unleashed made me want to go all 'un'.
Probably less sane than most un cards; since you could, Oh, I dunno - destroy the golden rule, or the rule about how a game ends or...
(Also this song of course)
ROFL. I think that is a valid objection; some creatures are already squeezed, and I think they've decided artifact creatures should always have a subtype, so if they did do this, they might have to make some type lines go onto two lines.
On the other hand, there seem to have only been six legendary artifact creatures at all and none of them have flash, so maybe we can just go on avoiding the problem... :)
Space:TheConvergence discussed using Instant as a supertype. I thought I'd put together a card demonstrating why that might be a bad idea; but it seems I've put together a card showing why it's an awesome idea and should be done. (Providing we're allowed to not have to have subtypes)
2 mana artifacts are lands, Howling Mine, thus the name, thus the implementation changed to use the Rainbow Vale mechanic.
Bah humbug. I guess I have to fall back on "When a card fights the rules, the card wins." (Luckily, (((The Rules))) isn't a permanent, yet...)
119.1a Damage can't be dealt to an object that's neither a creature nor a planeswalker.
701.10a A spell or ability may instruct a creature to fight another creature or it may instruct two creatures to fight each other. Each of those creatures deals damage equal to its power to the other creature.
The flavour here is making me giggle. So many puns. I should go to bed.
