I hope they complete the "cycle" of multicolored clones. It's fun.
A more restricted version of Xenograft sounds straightforward until you try to actually template the damn thing.
I am DEEPLY amused how close this turns out to be to Enduring Victory.
It'd be simpler if it didn't include any evasion abilities (flying) or attack-modifying abilities (vigilance). The rest would work even if it was just "gains until end of turn".
Yeah, it has the oddball "or be blocked" + "until next turn" combo so it actually makes sense for all the abilities to be there. Otherwise I need to remove some of them and it gets weird and awkward and unsatisfying.
Oh, hmm, I hadn't realised it lasted until the end of your next turn. Okay. So I can attack with this on the ground, and if you block with, um, Hovermyr or something, then next turn I can attack with this as a vigilant flyer. Then if you block with Giant Spider then although I lose flying and vigilance, I'm untapped and have reach to block your second Hovermyr.
Confusing. Fun. I wonder how often it'll come up?
The creature already comes with flying?
Annoying that this can't jump to block flyers, so there isn't really much point including that ability in the list. Also I can't see any reason at all to include reach in this list.
The idea is more that they are born of the fire than them causing it. My poor card naming is probably to blame.
Feels slightly asymmetrical that these 2/1 soldiers deal 1 damage. I'd prefer 1/1s, not so much for power level but just for aesthetics.
Seems a more balanced and interesting take on Sneak Attack.
Was gonna just restrict it to red, but did the sacrifice thing instead. Sorry, but I'm pretty sure red cheating hasty Emrakul would be out of color.
I love it. This would go straight into my Sun Titan deck.
Hmm. This is a replacement effect. Aren't there rules issues with allowing mana payments in replacement effects? You're converting the action of "playing a land" into something that can allow activating mana abilities such as Chromatic Sphere's or Thermopod's or Deranged Assistant's.
I don't see very much point in making this ETBT, rather than just charging an extra
in the cost, anyway, so you could make this just "When ~ ETBs" to avoid the rules weirdness.
Mmmmayyybe. This is stonkingly powerful with the bounce lands.
colorless land now.
On further thought, I don't think I can make a version that wouldn't be restricted in some way. At least not one that makes colored mana. Unlike a card such as Minamo, School at Water's Edge, legendary isn't exactly a problem for this particular effect!
At the moment it's strictly better than Island, so it probably does need one or the other.
Should this be legendary? Should it always ETB tapped?
typo fix
The funny thing about this effect is that Melira+Finks+Viscera Seer just continues on its merry way despite all the life loss.
I feel like this should be stapled onto a creature, since it will so often be useless.
